East Gates was very touched by all the letters that were sent from Chinese Christians in China, expressing their heartfelt prayers and condolences over the September 11, 2001 terrorist bombings in New York and Washington DC.
Many of these Christians have already experienced the trials of war, bombings, persecution, disease and hardships of life in their lifetime. From the depths of their experiences with great suffering, they have been able to empathize and comfort us at our time of great need.
Below are just a few of the letters we received from our brothers and sisters in China. May we continue to pray for them as they continually pray for us.

Dear East Gates Staff:
We turn on the television to see the news as usual in the early morning on September 12 (Beijing time). The screen of the television was showing New York and Washington DC of United States attacked by terrorists and suffering heavy losses. We were shocked and could not believe this fact.
This is the most ugly and despicable action. Tens of thousands of valuable life--singing the praise of Life--suddenly lost. Besides the shock of my family, we also feel extreme indignation as well.
We pray God take care of those injured, comfort family members of those who died and injured and lighten their pain. We pray God will be with the United States.

Dear Brothers in Lord:
It was painful to learn that planes were used by the terrorists of the World to crash the big buildings of United States. This made many of our brothers and sisters living in United States suffer adversities and death. Christians in China feel deeply grieved. May the Grace of God and the Cross of the Lord Jesus comfort the family members of every single brother and sister that sleeps in Him! The Resurrection of Jesus Christ, the saints will meet with Christ at His Second Coming and there will be no grief or pain anymore.
We, in the Christian Church in Guantun in Liaoning Province, want to comfort you all in the Lord of Jesus Christ! Since we are not died and we just sleep in Christ
(I Thessalonians 4: 13-14; Revelation 21: 3-4), we are waiting for the coming of the Lord. A Men! will continually send our special greetings to those who are working for the Lord and those missionaries who preaching the Gospel around the World and to the families and relatives who suffered in this big adversity. May the Grace of our Lord Jesus and the God who comfort people be with you all continually! May our Lord, our God, especially remember your labor and give you strong and eternal patience until the coming of the Lord, A Men!
May the Grace of God and His Peace be with you always!
